Volunteering for MESH
In order to work as a volunteer mediator for MESH, you will need to undertake our Community Mediation Skills training. The training involves about 24 hours of taught time and the completion of practical casework. This will entail working on a minimum of 5-6 cases (depending on the duration of cases) in Sheffield, Rotherham or Chesterfield. This averages out at a commitment of 3-5 hours per week while on casework.
You can find more details about what is in the course here.
You can find the dates and times of our next course here.
Our training courses are held at Scotia Works, Leadmill Road, Sheffield S1 4SE. Volunteers are expected to attend all sessions of the course, as well as quarterly supervision, and Mediator Support Group sessions which form part of your ongoing training and development.
If you would like
further information about the training, or wish to apply for
the courses, please contact us
for an informal chat and/or an
information and application pack. Please note that, owing to the nature
of the work we do, all volunteers will be required to undertake an
enhanced CRB check on the commencement of training.
